ENGLAND NETBALL PLAYER PATHWAY PROGRAMME
|
Welcome to the Birmingham County Netball Academy! The Academy is part of the performance pathway framework defined by England Netball. The pathway develops our Birmingham County young netballers to support their progression to franchise academies.
The Birmingham County pathway consists of U13 and U15 academies. |

Birmingham Netball Academy is a County Player Development Programme and part of the England Netball Player Pathway.
Our focus is on individual player development - providing development programmes that help talented athletes reach their potential and prepare them for future success, which for some is to progress to the next level of the Pathway, provided by the NSL Pathway Clubs, e.g. Birmingham Panthers.
Our Academies
We run four County Player Development Programmes, each comprising approximately 20 athletes:
Training takes place on Friday evenings from September to May and supports athletes across all areas of their development.
Sessions focus on technical, tactical, physical and psychological development, alongside decision-making, resilience, injury prevention, nutrition, self-reflection and video analysis.
Selection
Athletes are identified through local leagues and competitions or can be nominated by their club, with Academy trials taking place in September.
