Welcome, to the Birmingham Summer Netball League
We started the BSNL in 1978 to keep netball flowing during the summer months, when the BNL winter season had ended, and like them, we offer Grassroots Netball to a diverse level of abilities and currently have 12 divisions [hosting around 72 teams].
And not just players – needing 20 Umpires per round, we are also proud to support our Officiators, and offer an outlet for them to progress their skills and work through their levels.
Definitively a “Summer” League, our matches run from April to July, this season split over two times slots, on Wednesday and Thursday evenings across 4 locations.
Our passionate Committee of Volunteers, led by Christine Peddie, our League Chair, tirelessly organise divisional placements, fixtures, matches, timetables, umpires all with the help of the behind the scenes administration, to ensure the smooth running of the League and are inspired by the huge numbers of participants we watch play our beautiful sport on a weekly basis.
While we are specifically the Birmingham Summer Netball League, we do work closely with our Colleagues in the Birmingham Netball League [BNL] & Intermediates League (BINL).
We also work with the Birmingham Netball Association (who also offer Funding to Coaches) and the Birmingham County Umpiring Secretary, who organises Umpire Assessments, working closely with the BSNL’s Team of Umpiring Administrators.
