Little League

Picture
Little League Netball provides the opportunity for girls aged eight to eleven (school years 4, 5 and 6) to play organised and supervised league matches, coaching is also included.

Each league includes up to 10 teams, and the matches are played at the same venue each week – usually on Saturday mornings. The league season runs from March to July of each year.  There are currently 10 leagues across the City – so no-one should have far to travel!

No previous playing experience is necessary, as each team is made up of a careful balance of experienced and new players.  Games last for around 30 minutes and substitutions take place throughout matches to ensure everyone gets a fair turn.

**Joining sessions take place during February and March, although ususally it is possible to join at anytime.  Application form and dates of joining sessions/try out sessions are available in the How to Take Part section of your chosen Little League.

As well as encouraging more girls to play netball and develop their skills, we hope to foster a strong sense of team spirit, fun and friendship.  We actively try to engage the wider community to support the leagues, particularly parents of girls in the league.  The league organisers, team managers and umpires are all volunteers and training in coaching, First Aid and Safeguarding Children in Sport are available to anyone who would like to get involved.

Joining sessions are usually held in February or March each year, although it is [possible to join when the season is up and running. To find our more about your local Little League and how to join, please see the list of leagues on the leagues page and choose the one nearest you!!
